Configure Dial-Up Networking for Windows CE

  1. Click the Start button and choose Programs.

  2. Double-tap the Communications folder.

  4. Double-tap the Make New Connection icon.

  5. In the Type a name for the connection text box, type EarthLink.

  6. Select Dial-Up Connection.

  7. Tap the Next button.

  8. From the Select a modem list, choose your modem.
  9. In the Area code: and Telephone number: text boxes, type your local EarthLink access number. Remember to check with your local telephone company to make sure that the number you choose is a local toll-free call.
  10. Tap the Configure button.

  11. Select the appropriate Baud rate for your modem. For 14.4 modems use 19200, for 28.8 modems use 38400 and for 33.6k or 56k use 57600.
  12. On the menu bar, tap the OK button.

  13. Tap the TCP/IP Settings button.

  14. Check Server-assigned IP address.
  15. Uncheck Log on to network.
  16. Check Use software compression.
  17. Check Use IP header compression.

  18. Uncheck Server-assigned name server addresses.
  19. In the Primary DNS: text box, type 66.203.14.100
  20. In the Secondary DNS: text box, type 66.203.14.101
  21. In the Primary WINS text box, type 0.0.0.0
  22. In the Secondary WINS text box, type 0.0.0.0

    Specify Server Information

  23. On the menu bar, tap the OK button.
