Getting Started: Configure Outlook 98
  • Operating System: Windows 95, NT
  • Application: Microsoft Outlook
  • Application Version: 98


  • Open Outlook 98.
  • From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.

    Choose Accounts

  • Click the Add button, and choose Mail.

    Choose Mail from the Add button

  • In the Display name box, type your name.

    Provide Your Name

  • Click the Next button.
  • In the E-mail address box, type your e-mail address (e.g., username@cboss.com).

    Provide Your E-mail Address

  • Click the Next button.
  • From the drop-down list, choose POP3.
  • In the Incoming mail (POP or IMAP) server box, type mail.cboss.com.
  • In The Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type smtp.cboss.com.

    Provide E-mail Server information

  • Click the Next button.
  • Select Log on using: POP account name, Password.
  • In the POP account name box, type your username.
  • In the Password box, type your password.

    Provide E-mail Logon information

  • Click the Next button.
  • In the Internet mail account name box, type cboss Mail (Note: this can be anything you want).

    Provide a Friendly Name

  • Click the Next button.
  • Select Connect using my phone line.

    Choose a Connection Type

  • Click the Next button.
  • Select Use an existing dial-up connection.
  • Select your cboss connection.

    Select Your Dial-Up Connection

  • Click the Next button.
  • Click the Finish button to save settings.

    Click the Finish button
